Just as with senior humans, senior pets often require a different spectrum of care. Additionally, certain breeds may be considered “senior” at different ages. While a Labrador Retriever might be considered senior at 6 or 7-years-old, a small terrier at the same age may be considered as just “middle-aged”. Dental disease, obesity, arthritis, and other degenerative diseases can be common in older pets.
