Save the date! On Thursday, November 8, from 4 to 7 pm, Moreland Animal Hospital will have a professional photographer onsite to snap pics of your furry friends with Santa. The sitting fee is $15 per pet which includes three digital shots you will receive via email for use on social media, holiday cards, etc. All proceeds from pictures will go to the Grantville Animal Shelter.

Moreland Animal Hospital first opened its doors in January 2009, and we’re planning to kick off the celebration a couple of months early. To celebrate 10 years in business, and to say ‘thank you’ to our community of pet owners, the first 25 visitors on November 8 will receive free Moreland Animal Hospital cups. We will also be selling t-shirts for $15 each.

Also, with us that evening will be Alicia and Bill Klenk, founders of Rescuepoohdog.com, a website dedicated to raising awareness of animal shelters around the world. The Klenk’s own rescue experience led to the publication of Rescue: A Dog’s Journey. Written by Bill and illustrated by Alicia, a nationally and internationally awarded equine photographer and artist, the book is the first in a series of stories about their sweet rescue dog Pooh, a lovable mutt who’s always trying to learn new tricks and enjoy his life. Mr. Pooh will also make an appearance and available for ‘pawtographs’ of their book. All proceeds from the book sales will go to rescue organizations. Autographed hardcover books will be available for purchase for $24.95. Paperback books will be $8.95.

The next time you pay us a visit, be sure to check out The Heritage School art room’s photography project “Dogs in the Carpool” which will be on display through the end of December.
